The Rt. Rev. Herbert Spaugh, a distinguished Moravian bishop, author, musician, and newspaper columnist, was the pastor of The Little Church on the Lane in Charlotte, NC for many years.

Spaugh was consecrated as a bishop in 1959. Starting in 1933, he wrote a newspaper column titled Everyday Counselor for newspapers in Charlotte and Winston-Salem; the column was later syndicated in thirty newspapers across the South.
